Pink® Batts® Ultra™

Tasman insulation Pink® Batts® Ultra™ (the Ultra range including both wall and ceiling products) is able to deliver R-values that are higher than the recommended Building Code minimum R-values. As such, the life cycle energy savings realised from the use of the product exceeds the energy used in manufacture of the product.
Tasman Insulation, have also installed a new electric glass melter which provides improved energy-efficiency in manufacturing and reduces CO² emissions.

Pink® Batts® Ultra™ has been accepted into the Asthma and Respiratory Foundation of New Zealand’s Sensitive Choice Programme by proving the products quality and safety through its manufacturing processes. Glass wool used in Pink® Batts® is classed in the same category as tea and caffeine by the International Agency for Research on Cancer, part of the World Health Organisation.

Tasman Insulation NZ ltd. currently hold the ARC air discharge permit with complies with the NZ RMA criteria to reduce, remedy and mitigate emission of particulate output. Ongoing measurements of discharges together with process control systems provide the data to confirm performance and provide a basis for future systems improvements.

The manufacture of Pink® Batts® Ultra™ involves a process which uses up to 80% recycled glass. Other resource efficient procedures utilised include recycled off cuts, reuse of water for cooling, dust collection and compressed packaging to minimise transport cost throughout the manufacturing process.
